BUSY COUPLE DAYS FOR THE VOLUNTEERS

The past couple days have steady for the members. Since Thursday , the volunteers have answered 8 calls for service.

Thursday - Day time crew handled an accident in the 900 blk of Pennsy Rd. The rescue made the response and arrived to find one vehicle off the roadway into the marsh. The rescue company stood by till the arrival of the tow company.

Friday- Company handled 2 calls for service. The day time crew was on the street again handling a fire alarm. Later in the evening about 8pm, the volunteers were dispatched for a house fire on Hawthorne Dr in Providence Twp. Engine 502 arrived with a working fire. The crew from Engine 502 encounter a heavy smoke condition and high heat inside the house. Crews found a kitchen fire that had extended into the rest of the house. We were assisted by several neighing department. Crews operated for about 2 hours before returning.

Saturday- The Tower and Rescue were dispatched to assist Conestoga Fire Co on a building fire. Units from Conestoga arrived and had a small fire. The Tower and Rescue were cancelled while responding.

Sunday- Company handled 4 calls in the afternoon and evening. All the dispatched calls were for fires. The first call was at 1415 hrs to assist Conestoga Fire Co on Stoney Lane. Conestoga Fire Co was originally dispatched for a brush fire. While responding another call was received for stating that a barn was on fire at the address. Tower 50 , Rescue 50 , Engine 502 and traffic 50 all made the response. Units arrived with a fire inside the barn and also about a 1/2 - 1 acre of a wind driven brush fire. At 1452 while units were operating , a call for a house fire was reported in West Lampeter Twp on Windy Hill Rd. Engine 502 and Rescue 50 made the response from the Conestoga call. Units arrived on Windy Hill Rd with a working garage fire. Later on in the evening at 1833 hrs the Tower was dispatched to assist Lancaster Twp Fire Co on Wyncroft Ln for a apartment fire. Lancaster Twp Fire Co was originally dispatched for a bush on fire. They arrived to find a fire that extended into the roof line of the building. Tower arrived and assisted with opening up. Engine 502 also made the response. Crews operated for 1 1/2 hrs before returning to the firehouse. The last call of the night was for another fire. The Tower and Engine 2 were on the street assisting West Willow Fire Co on Millwood Rd. Units from West Willow and Willow Street worked on a small fire in the flower bed with possible extension into the house. Crews work for about 30 mins before being released.
