At 1315 full companies from 512 and 54 along with Engine 511-1 (West Willow), Truck 66 (Lancaster Twp) and Rescue 57 (Quarryville) were dispatched to the Willow Valley Resort for a building fire. Duty officer (Chief M Reese) checked up and communications advised of a Christmas tree on fire inside the lobby. Chief 512 arrived with a heavy smoke condition inside the building with evacuation in progress. Engine 5-12-2 arrived and advanced the front bumper line into the lobby area to locate the fire. Crews located the area of the fire to find it knocked down by sprinklers. Engine 5-12-2 officer Lt Anastasio reported checking for extension with a very heavy smoke condition throughout the hotel. At this point command asked for 2nd alarm Trucks and Rescue's to be dispatched for ventilation. As units began to arrive they were assigned there duties and area to where they needed to report with there fans. All 5 floors of the hotel had smoke on the floor that had to be ventilated. Trucks 512 and 66 made the roof to remove the skylight to assist with smoke removal. Command place the incident undercontrol with all units working at 1401 hrs. Units began clearing around 1525 hrs with the last of the 512 units clearing at 1645 hrs.
