EARLY MORNING FIRE

At 0740 , Rescue 50 was dispatched to assist Station 89 ( Robert Fulton) on a working commercial building fire. The rescue was dispatched about 10 into the fire as a cover unit for the intinal rescue company that failed to respond. First in units arrived to find a large commercial building that was being operated as a sawmill with heavy fire showing from all sides. Rescue 50 arrived and was assigned RIT function for fire fighters that were operating. The crew from the rescue company operated about 30 min as the RIT team until that function was broken down. The company was reassigned to preforming run off spill control from the fuel and oil that was running from the building. The rescue driver also assisted with filling some bottles for the departments operating on the scene. Crews from WSFC operated about 3 hours on the scene till being released by command.

Additional personal staffed Engine 502 while the rescue operated at the scene . Gordonville Engine / Tanker 43 was transfered to station 50 to help provide coverage for area tankers that were operating at the scene of the fire . Engine 502 and Engine 431 handled a fire alarm in the 1st while crews were out
