Little after lunch time, Engine 502 was dispatched to assist Station 58 (Rawlinsville) in the 1st blk of Hopkins Mill Rd in Providence Twp for a reported house on fire. While responded a large volume of smoke could be seen. Engine 581 arrived on the scene with a well involved house. Engine 502 arrived as the 2nd due engine and laid out from Truce Rd and Hopkins Mill Rd to the scene which was about 800 ft. The crew from Engine 502 ran a supply line to Truck 57 and Tanker 57. Engine 502 then was fed by several tankers since there were no fire hydrants in the area. Crews operated in a defensive mode to extinguish the fire. Companies from surrounding department operated for a little over 2 hours . Engine 501 and Squad 502 also made the response to the call as well.
