Under bright blue skies , the members held its 2nd annual open house . The event is put on by the department so the community can meet the firefighters and see the apparatus along the equipment that we use everyday to save lives in the greater Willow Street area. This year brought fire truck rides , police K-9 demo's , smoke house , fire extinguisher training , and several other thing to do . This year for the event we also added a Medical Helicopter JeffStat. Everyone got to meet the medical staff on board and also take a look inside the aircraft. Lancaster EMS was also on had giving tours of the ambulance. The community showed great support throughout the day by stopping by to see what all the action was about . The department also uses this time to teach fire prevention to the young children on how to prevent fires and also what to do is there is a fire inside of the house then they are sleeping. We would like to thank everyone that came out this year to say hi to the firefighters . We hope to see everyone again next year.
